Point one for Canada

Dear Everybody,
I have finally reached the point where it would be faster for me if I were to type in German, except that I do not know the letter combinations as well. I think in German more than I think in English, resulting in the pinnacle of slowness when typing in either language. That was phrased rather poorly. What I am trying to say is that I have reached a balance where I am equal speed in typing in both languages, because I forget the English word when typing in English, and I am physically slow at typing in German, even though the sentences flow easily. I just finished typing an email in German, so that is why I thought of this.
Elder Wipf and I had the baptism through ice cream. That does not make as much sense in English. The word for ice and ice cream is the same in German, so the baptism through ice cream is the baptism through ice. If you are wondering what I am talking about, see the picture below. I did not manage to finish it, but Elder Wipf did. Point one for Canada. (As in the first one.)
Elder Wipf also learned how to eat with his fingers. We went to a members house. He recently moved here from Sweden, but he is from Africa. We had some delicious fufu, which is eaten with hands. Elder Wipf about died doing it. He could not take not having a knife and fork. He asked the member how they wash their hands in Africa. He told him that was the same way we do it here in Germany. Elder Wipf was very confused. He asked if they used soap. The member told him that they did, and running water too. He then told us, like every African that I have ever met, that his country is not poor, the problem is corruption. Next time we go over, we are going to eat cow skin.
I'm having a lot of fun here in the land of Germany. Love hearing from everyone. Hope you are doing well!
love,
Elder Perez

Ship in port

Hanse Tage. It is sort of like Draper days.
It celebrates the Hanse League, a group of coastal cities that
dominated the world in the 15th and 16th centuries. Lübeck was the
leader of the League. These coastal cities were the richest
in the world because all trade had to go through them.
There is an annual festival that is celebrated in one of the cities.
This year was Lübeck. There were a lot of people here for the festival.

We make you happy!

Dear Everybody,
Hello once again from the land of Germany. It is that time of year when politicians start campaigning for their platforms because elections are coming soon. German political ads entertain me.
What is new? I went on exchange this week with my MTC companion Elder Lawyer. We were able to find potential investigators together. Elder Wipf and our district leader were able to do the same thing here in Lübeck. I feel like exchanges are more successful than normal days of work for some strange reason.
One of our newest investigators has investigated almost every single church in Germany with one exception. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We had an excellent first appointment with him on Saturday.
I am looking forward to mission tour in a couple of weeks.
Hope that everyone is doing well.
love,
Elder Perez

Broken bike

Dear Everybody,
The message of this week is to always listen to the Spirit.
Elder Wipf and I were tracting, when we had the feeling that would should leave the street. We prayed and knocked on one more door, but we could not deny that we both had the feeling to be anywhere except where we were currently at. We turned around and headed to the end of the street where we had parked our bicycles.
We started riding our bicycles, when the pedal of my bicycle came clean off.
Had we not started when we did, we would have been very late for our appointment, since we were twenty minutes away riding a functional bicycle.
   Always follow the Spirit.
sincerely,
Elder Perez

None are lost

Dear Everybody,
I am grateful for the Plan of Salvation and the temple. Together, they make up the glorious message that all can be saved. Our good, recently baptized friend Günther is feeling the Spirit of Elijah. As he was praying and pondering the scriptures, he had the compulsion to look in the book, Teachings of the Prophet Joseph F. Smith. He came to the chapter on the sealing power and the temple. As he read, he had an indescribable feeling come over him. It was then clear to him what his purpose now is. It is to go to the temple. It is to help the members of his family who died without the blessings of the Gospel.
The message of the Gospel is that none are lost, unless they choose to be.
I know that this is true.
sincerely,
Elder Perez
