More correctly, the Deutsche Bahn, the largest German train
company had a strike on Thursday, the day that all of the missionaries were
supposed to drive to Berlin, or at least within range that they could get to
the mission conference. Every train imaginable, fell out. The German train system
is confusing because there are a ton or regional companies, but the Deutsche
Bahn is the only German wide train company. So no matter what, to get to
Berlin, you have to use the Deutsche Bahn at some point. It was heard among the
missionaries to be said that Satan really didn’t want us to have IPads. We didn’t
get those anyway. The shipment was delayed. Needless to say, it was very
hectic. We got to Zwickau using the Vogtlandbahn Company. From there, we
managed to get the only train that didn’t fall out from Zwickau to Leipzig that
day. From three in the morning until three at night, only one left at sixteen.
There we met the Groitzsch elders, who have a car. We stayed there overnight
and made it safely to Berlin on time.
There we trained for IPads we still get, but don’t yet have.
My favorite quote from the conference- We will not allow Satan to rule the Internet.
–Elder Nielsen of the Seventy
Yay technology soon to come!
