He Lives!

Dear Everybody,

   Exciting news. Our investigator Günther is going to be baptized this week! It is very exciting!

   In other news, we had an adventure at the emergency room. Nothing urgent about it, we just had to visit the doctor because of Elder Wipf's hip. It has be agitating him a little bit. But on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays doctor's offices are closed. Our only option was the emergency room or wait until Tuesday. Nothing serious. Apparently, his hip is abnormally shaped. Nothing that a little physical therapy will not fix. I really need to work on my anatomical German vocabulary.

   In other, other news, Easter was an enjoyable couple of days so far. The first holiday is Friday. The last holiday is on Monday. That means that the stores are closed except for a few hours on Saturday. We talked with a lot of (Okay. I have to explain the mistake that I just deleted. I was typing the sentence normally, but instead of people, I typed mention. The sentence then read: We talked with a lot of mention on the street. This makes no sense, unless you know that one of the German terms for people in general is Menschen. Pronounced roughly the same. Not quite. My brain is broken.) people on the street about the meaning of Easter. Very few could tell us what it actually meant.

   What it meant is that the Plan of Salvation was brought to completion. The tomb was empty. The Atonement complete. All would rise from the dead. All who chose to follow Him, would receive a forgiveness of their sins through faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. We remember especially on Easter that He was resurrected. But we should remember it every Sunday as we take part from the bread and the water that represent that very sacrifice that we celebrate on this special holiday. We remember our covenants at baptism, when we go under the water and come up again, symbolically referring to His three days in the tomb and triumphant Resurrection. On Saturday, Elder Wipf and I will have the special experience of taking part in a service, where that ordinance that points so much to what He did that Easter Sunday, will be performed.

   This is the simple truth. He lives.
